Excellent, cheap accommodation
Firstly, ignore the taxi driver’s comment about Benwell being an undesirable place to stay! If you want clean, quiet and basic accommodation then this is the place. We stayed for two nights as we wanted to explore Newcastle and Durham. There is a bus stop directly opposite which will take you directly into Newcastle. On returning by bus at night, you’ll get a good sleep as it’s a quiet location. We were able to watch the news on a big screen, in a lounge area, before going to bed. If you want somewhere to sleep, have breakfast and then get out to explore, then why pay more? This place suited our budget and I’m glad we didn’t listen to the taxi driver. Maybe he had a friend with a hotel in town……..

Budget accommodation

Stayed at Roselodge

Value for money, I stayed at Roselodge hotel this weekend. The time I enter into the hotel. it was like a dream. very traditinal buliding altogether. Hotel staff was excllent very helpful. room was alright. it was the best value for money. in this price you can’t get better than this. I would love to come back again in near future.

Short cheap stay

Short cheap stay, we were made to feel very welcome.the rooms are clean and basic.i was very surprised to find we had tea and coffee facilities and also a television.

Night out in Newcastle

We stayed here after a night out in Newcastle. It was only 10 mins in a taxi and far enough away that you didn't hear any city noise. The gentleman that took our booking was very helpful and gave us the number of a very cheap taxi firm, as we had just been charged a lot for another taxi, so be careful!!
It was quite a basic hotel, but for that fabulouse price its exactly what we expected.

This is an excellent stayover for stag weekends or somewhere cheap and close to the city centre only 10 mins away buses every 15 minutes from outside what more can you ask for, staff very helpful and polite, place is clean. would stay again.
